The Zak Doors & Windows story actually begins one show earlier - with an expo built around glass processing technology. Architects and developers, eager to see what was possible with glass in a building façade, started asking for more.
Born as an offshoot of the glass show, the inaugural edition met a façade and fenestration industry that was still young and largely unorganised. uPVC and aluminium profile systems were just arriving in India from Europe, alongside the hardware and machinery makers who built them - and the show became the place that connected them with the local market.
Close to 200 brands from India and abroad now exhibit each year, with the show alternating between New Delhi and Mumbai. Designers, investors, manufacturers, installers and fabricators use it as their window into the latest technology available in India - and more than a few door, window and façade businesses trace their start back to a stand on this show floor.
